The 296th (St Luke’s) Lodge Moor Scout Group

The 296th Sheffield (St Luke’s) Lodge Moor Scout Group was founded in 1966 to meet the demand in the Lodge Moor area for Scouting.  Starting with just a Cub Pack and a Scout Troop, a beaver colony was added in 1986 and a Venture Scout Unit in 1990.  The group is now recognised as one of the best in South Yorkshire, due in no small part to the well trained leadership and the willing help and support from a succession of parents over the years.  The Group has a large team of warranted leaders and many other helpers and assistants, many of whom hold certificates in first aid, walking, mountaineering and water activities.  We also have a very strong and well organised Group Executive Committee.  There is always room for additional volunteers whether it’s on a regular weekly basis or for one event.
